Really my idea of an island getaway. Will never get over the freshest squid I’ve ever had!
Beach town was a peaceful place to be. I even learned how to freedive on another island trip! Sometimes, we drove inland for a dip in cool, freshwater rivers instead of the beach. We took a few jeeps once to reach this beautiful waterfall, several towns over. We biked a bunch of places too, through farms, to other beaches.
Second to the surf, which I realized I missed so much more, later on - going on adventures that always included eating something delicious were the best parts of my stay. I watched people haul in a huge net one afternoon from the beach, and split the catch among everyone who pitched in, from kids to elders. A part of me will forever be in Bagasbas.
