On a journey to Danjugan Island, I immersed fully in a landscape I truly hope more people have the opportunity to experience. Special in so many ways for their work in promoting and preserving the island’s biodiversity. This experience has a deep place in my heart, in large thanks to my guide, Kuya Ram. Salamat po!

The island’s ecosystem is a whole world to discover. I slept under a net, on the veranda, listening to waves gently lap the shore.

The next day, we trekked into the wetlands to search for birds, hiked up to the eagle tree, then down to kayak into a cove. It was too short a stay, and I can still feel the island’s spirit course through these photos.
